A new major exhibit by Stefano Unerthiner “Una finestra sull’Artico” open October 31st at Forte di Bard, Aosta Valley, Italy. EPSON, Stefano’s long-standing partner, once again sponsored the exhibition.
“Una finestra sull’Artico” brings together – and presents to the public for the first time – the work produced by Stefano Unterthiner between 2018 and 2025 on the Svalbard archipelago: the photographs taken during the project Una famiglia nell’Artico (2018-2020), which also gave rise to the book Un mondo diverso, along with previously unpublished material from four subsequent expeditions. Sixty photographs document the Arctic and its wildlife across the changing seasons.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to view a 20-minute documentary produced by RAI 3 recounting the Una famiglia nell’Artico project. The exhibition concludes with a series of black-and-white portraits taken by Unterthiner of residents from the small Longyearbyen community, accompanied by their accounts of how they perceive the effects of climate change.
